Coach Steve Trentham
A former fat guy, and self-proclaimed “work in progress”, Steve is the driving force for Dallas Underground Strength & Fitness. He has made every mistake in the book when it comes to health and fitness in his own life.
A former collegiate wrestler, martial artist and a life-long workout junkie, Steve discovered his calling was to empower others to forever change their bodies and lives for the better. Steve has a unique ability to translate his own personal failures into remarkable successes for the clients he works with. This has made Steve one of the most sought after fitness professionals in North Texas since 1995.
Steve was the principle director of Priority Fitness, LLC, a private personal training and fitness consulting company providing fitness and wellness solutions to fitness and athletic programs including Lakes Tennis Academy, FIT-BODY Personal Training, and Lean Bodies, Inc. His clinical experiences includes cardiac rehabilitation and physical therapy in various hospitals and allied healthcare facilities in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.
In 2005, Steve created the “2000 Lb. Melt Off Challenge” and led a group of 68 participants to lose a total of 1,872 lbs in six weeks using a specialized fitness and nutritional program. Additionally Steve has been involved in martial arts for over two decades, and is a licensed self-defense instructor with the Academy of Combative Warrior Arts (A.C.W.A.).
One of Steve’s passions is to help student athletes reach their full potential. Over the years, he has worked with numerous high school, collegiate, professional and Olympic caliber athletes, and had the privilege to work directly with legendary Strength and Conditioning Coach Bob King, CSCS.
Steve is proud to have trained athletes who competed at the NCAA level at Boston University, University of the Incarnate Word, University of Texas, University of Oklahoma, The Ohio State University. University of Tennessee, Notre Dame University, Texas A&M University and Florida Gulf Coast University in basketball, football, women’s soccer, track and field, wrestling and volleyball.
